GREENSTONE — Ontario Provincial Police have charged a Thunder Bay man with impaired driving after a traffic stop just south of Geraldton on Monday.

In a media release issued Tuesday afternoon, OPP said they stopped a speeding vehicle on Highway 11 near Michael Power Boulevard in Greenstone around 11 p.m.

Officers subsequently determined the driver was intoxicated, according to police, and he was taken to the Greenstone detachment for further testing.

OPP charged the 35-year-old with impaired driving and driving with a blood alcohol level of over the limit of 80 mg of alcohol per 100 ml of blood. He was also charged under the Highway Traffic Act with speeding.

He was released from custody, police said, and has a court date in July.
