NIPIGON — Regional OPP was busy taking potentially intoxicated drivers off the roads.

In Armstrong, officers were called about a suspected impaired driver in Whitesand First Nation Saturday around dinner time.

After locating the vehicle and stopping it, the driver was tested and confirmed to be under the influence of alcohol.

A 37-year-old Whitesand resident was arrested and charged with various alcohol offences.

On Sunday, Nipigon officers were called about an erratic driver on Hwy 11/17 near Hurkett Loop Road.

Once the vehicle was located, police completed a traffic stop, and officers administered a roadside sobriety test.

The OPP determined that the driver was impaired by alcohol and arrested them.

A 53-year-old from Geraldton was arrested and waits for a future date with the Ontario court.
