Two charged with drug trafficking in Webequie

Nishnawbe Aski Police Service (NAPS) arrested two suspects for drug trafficking in Webequie First Nation.

Webequie – On March 18, two suspects were arrested by Nishnawbe Aski Police Service (NAPS) after police executed a search warrant at a residential address in Webequie First Nation.

According to NAPS, police entered the home and located cocaine, cash, and paraphernalia consistent with drug trafficking.

As a result, a 32-year-old from Webequie First Nation with trafficking cocaine.

The second suspect, a 33-year-old from Webequie First Nation is charged with trafficking cocaine, possession of money obtained by crime, and failure to comply with a release order.

The first suspect has been released with conditions and a future court date.

The second suspect was remanded into custody with a future appearance date.
