NIPIGON—The Township of Nipigon is once again celebrating its volunteers and individuals who have contributed to community building.
Each year the Township of Nipigon accepts nominations for Citizen of the Year.
According to the Township, the Citizen of the Year Awards recognizes Nipigon volunteers who have demonstrated all-around community involvement rather than specific activity or contribution.
Those being nominated can be youth, adults or groups who have helped develop community by their actions. The Township describes this recognition by stating that, “This award is given to individuals who build communities and show what can be achieved with passion and determination. and presents it to the recipient at the Annual Christmas Reception. This award is given to individuals who build communities and show what can be achieved with passion and determination.”
