MARATHON – Voting in Marathon will be online only for the upcoming municipal election.
With a little more than a month away, the Town of Marathon has announced how voters will cast their ballots.
CAO Daryl Skworchinski explained the municipal election will be fully electronic.
“There will be no in person polls, so residents that are on the voters list in Marathon will receive their voter’s card with instructions and their private information and passwords on how to vote using technology on their computer, tablet or phone,” Skworchinski said in an interview with CFNO.
Skworchinski is encouraging residents to not be afraid of the process.
“I told council last night we’ve fully tested it and there shouldn’t be any glitches.”
If residents have questions, they are welcome to contact town hall and staff will provide assistance.
Skworchinski said there is also an online voting video on the town’s website with a step-by-step guide on how to vote.
For those who don’t have electronic devices, there will be a station set up at town hall that can be accessed by setting up an appointment.
Voting opens Friday, Oct. 14 at 9 a.m. - Residents will have 10 days to cast their ballot.
