WAWA—Power outages are often an event faced by many households during summer storms. They can last anywhere from hours to days or even weeks depending on the severity of the storm.
According to their Facebook post, “Power outages are often caused by freezing rain, sleet storms and/or high winds which damage power lines and equipment. Cold snaps or heat waves can also overload the electric power system.”
As a result, households can be left without heat or air conditioning, light, hot water or even running water.
As a helpful measure the Municipality of Wawa, shared some useful tips so that residents and the public can know what to do before, during and after a power outage. They encourage everyone to prepare in advance of a power outage in order to lessen their impact.
