WAWA—Dan Beach, director of infrastructure services, for the Municipality of Wawa, shared a notice for community residents regarding their hazardous household waste day.
The day is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 10, from 9:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. at the local Public Works yard gate entrance.
The notice highlighted the types of products allowed to be disposed of a household hazardous waste.
Items such as automobile and garage products such as anti-freeze, and batteries are some of these items. In addition, household cleaning products such as chlorine bleach, can be disposed of that day too.
The municipality’s list also includes:
- Miscellaneous products: thinners, turpentine, disposable batteries, propane cylinders.
- Paints and paint related materials-Do not mix latex with oil base paints.
- Pesticides and garden products.
The notice was also very specific of what products cannot be disposed of that day. Items such as commercial, industrial and institutional waste is not accepted; nor is, radioactive materials such as fireworks and ammunition. In addition, PCB wastes and old electronics and tires will not be accepted either.
