Weapons charges laid after motorcycle event

Greenstone OPP has laid several charges following a motorcycle event.

GREENSTONE - According to OPP Northwest Region, on June 1 the OPP conducted proactive enforcement during a motorcycle event in the Municipality of Greenstone.

As a result, three bikes were removed from the roadway and several charges were laid, including two for helmet violations after roadside inspections.

Additionally, officers arrested and charged a 50-year-old from Nakina with possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

The accused was also charged with following too closely and failure to wear a helmet.

The accused has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the court in July.
