Environment Canada has issued multiple weather advisories for the Superior North region.
An extreme cold warning is in effect for the Nakina and Aroland areas, with overnight wind chill values expected between -35 and -40 on Monday into Tuesday morning.
The conditions are expected to become more moderate during the day on Tuesday, before dropping back down that night.
Elsewhere in the region, winter weather travel advisories are in effect for the Marathon, Schreiber, White River and Wawa areas.
The forecast is predicting up to 7 centimetres of snow, with slippery road conditions and reduced visibility.
Highway 11 is closed between Highway 625 and Hearst, as of Monday afternoon.
