Environment Canada is warning of a snowy, slippery day ahead for many parts of the region.

The agency has issued flash freeze warnings for the Manitouwadge, Hornepayne, White River, and Wawa areas, along with snowfall warnings for several communities within Greenstone.

For Manitouwadge and Hornepayne, Environment Canada is forecasting that any ponding, slush or falling precipitation will turn to ice Wednesday morning through the afternoon as the temperature drops.

In Greenstone, as much as 15 centimetres of snow is expected to fall, coming down heavily at times. The snow is likely to continue into Wednesday evening.

North shore areas are under a winter weather travel advisory.
