WAWA -- Week two of Building Safety Month focus is the topic of resilience.
Throughout the month of May, builders in Wawa are being encouraged to “Build Safe and Build Resilient”. Each week it provided a specific focus.
According to the Municipality resilient buildings are those that are:
- more likely to withstand extreme weather events
- going to last longer, costing less in the long run
- sustainable and contribute to the environment
- allow occupants time to get out in emergencies
- allow first responders time to do their jobs safely during emergencies.
