White River resident charged with assault, uttering threats

The accused faces multiple charges after two separate incidents in Wawa in less than a week.

WAWA — A 33-year-old from White River faces multiple charges after two separate incidents in Wawa in less than a week.

Provincial police said the first incident happened on the evening of Jan. 16, when officers responded to an assault on Churchill Avenue. The suspect fled the scene prior to police arriving.

The second incident happened during the early morning hours of Jan. 19, when the suspect allegedly made threats.

The accused has been charged with assault with a weapon, uttering threats to cause death or bodily harm, and two counts of mischief.

The accused has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear in a Wawa court in March.
