SUPERIOR NORTH – Those travelling Friday should exercise caution due to weather conditions, warns Environment Canada.
The agency declared a winter weather travel advisory early Friday morning, stating that lake-enhanced snow off Lake Superior will continue this morning and is expected to be heavy at times.
Peak snowfall rates of two to three centimetres per hour, along with very poor visibility, are likely at times with this snow.
Local snowfall accumulations of 10 to 15 centimetres are possible by later this morning when the snow tapers off.
Motorists should expect hazardous winter driving conditions and adjust travel plans accordingly. Prepare for quickly changing and deteriorating travel conditions.
