SUPERIOR NORTH – Those travelling Tuesday should exercise caution due to weather conditions, warns Environment Canada.

The agency declared a winter weather travel advisory early Tuesday morning, stating that rapidly accumulating snowfall with snowfall amounts of seven to 15 centimetres are expected by Wednesday evening in the Wawa - Pukaskwa Park, White River - Dubreuilville area.

Snowfall rates of up to two centimetres per hour are possible at times. Reduced visibilities in blowing snow are also expected.

A developing low pressure system is expected to bring a large swath of snow to the region.

Light snow is expected to begin late this afternoon before quickly intensifying this evening.

If visibility is reduced while driving, turn on your lights and maintain a safe following distance.

Surfaces such as highways, roads, walkways and parking lots may become difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow.

Visibility may be suddenly reduced at times in heavy snow.

Road closures are possible.
