Betty Gillis (McNaughton) age 94 Years Passed away peacefully with her sons by her side at Hogarth Riverview Manor, Monday May 15 after declining health for the past year and a bad fall on February 11.
Born in Port Arthur, Long-time resident of Current River, then Silver Harbour. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Her home, family and her boy Buster (our cat) along with counting ducks on the dock, looking over the lake at boats in summer and ice fishermen in winter, were a joy to her. She spent many days fishing with steel line from the boat and ice in the winter.
Betty belonged to the Current River 10 Pin Ladies Bowling League. She also gardened, liked travelling, watching the Atlanta Braves, knitting, and looking over at Sibley.
Betty is predeceased by parents Angus and Jemima McNaughton, husband Frank and daughter Marlene Adams. Sisters Jean MacDonald (Alistair), their children; Margaret Ann, Ian, and Grant, Joyce Snowdon (Glen)
Betty Is survived by children David (Monelle), Susan, Billy (Holly), son-in-law Gordy Adams (Moe), grandchildren Sarah Jayne Adams, Robbie Adams (Caroline), and Michael Gillis. Great- grandchildren Devin Adams (Chelsea), Mason Adams, Kalyn Adams, Madison Wolframe, as well as nieces, Nephews, and families.

A Graveside Service will be held at Riverside Cemetery, Section 47 (close to Balmoral gates) on Friday, May 19, 2023 at 10:30 a.m. Visitation for family and friends will be held in the Chapel of Harbourview Funeral Centre, on Thursday, May 18, 2023 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.
