Kay passed away on April 26 at the age of 100. She was raised in Westfort and married Bill Hodwitz.

When Bill joined the army during the Second World War, she worked at Canadian Car on the Hawker Hurricane aircraft assembly. When Bill returned, they raised three sons, Bill Jr., Robert, and Ronald. They then moved to Vickers Heights where they had a market garden.

Kay continued to work at various jobs. She was a waitress in several restaurants and was a cook at a children’s daycare school. She and Bill attended Holy Cross Church and both of them were active members of the auxiliaries.

Kay’s life was one of service and generosity. She preserved a lot of vegetables and gave jars of pickles and relishes to many of her friends.

When Bill passed away seven years ago, Kay moved into Hogarth Riverview Manor where she was quite happy. Now they can be together again.

The family will be forever grateful to Marla McKerracher for the love and care which sustained both Bill and Kay for many years. Kay was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. We will miss her very much.

As by Kay’s request, a family graveside service will be held at a later date.
