Cree Patayash, age 22, suddenly passed away on May 21st, 2023. He was born in Thunder Bay, Ontario and lived here all his life. He was a band member of North Caribou Lake Band.

He is survived by his mother Celinda Patayash, his father Rheal Twance (Raven), his siblings, Christian, Skyler, Anthony, Andrew (Ashlyn), Anemkii, Deandre, Willow and Zyanya. Also, his nephews and nieces, Marc, Ty, Rayne, Santino and Sophia.

He is also survived by his great uncle Duncan whom he shared an impeccable bond with. His great aunties, Martha, Geraldine and Beatrice. His auntie Courtney (Matt), their children Leighton and Oaklyn and Uncle Kevin. On his maternal side of the family are grandmother Bella, Auntie Samaria and her children Thelma, Byrtonlee, Sonny and Bradley. Uncle Solomen and his children, Skye, Ashton, Storm, Orion, Neveyah, Grayson and Lulu. Great aunt Sarah Johnson (Lyle, Naomi Mamakwa-Stoltz, Liz) Among numerous extended family.

He is predeceased by his paternal grandmother Joan, baby sister, his maternal grandfather Solomen, great auntie Madeline Sakakeep, Demus Patayash and great auntie Florence.

Cree was an energetic and kind person. He enjoyed helping others with yard work and snow shovelling, proving that he was a hard-working young man. He was working at Musselwhite Mine at the time of his passing. He will always be remembered for his outgoing and friendly personality. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Family, friends and others are invited to attend the Funeral at WESTFORT CHAPEL, 420 West Gore Street at James, on Friday June 2, 2023 beginning at 11:00AM. Burial will take place at Riverside Cemetery (800 Oliver Road). Reception to follow at New Hope Church (532 Edward St. N) from 2:00-5:00.
