It is with profound sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Diane Jennifer Conway (née Lindsay), who left us far too soon on July 27, 2025, at the age of 43.
Diane was born on November 26, 1981, in Ottawa, Ontario. She spent her early years in Ottawa, Cornwall and Belleville, Ontario, but found her true home in Thunder Bay, where she lived all her adult life. In Thunder Bay, Diane had her two beautiful children, Emma and Cameron Hollanti. Emma and Cameron were Diane’s true pride and joy. She marvelled in her children’s achievements and accomplishments. She was truly the proudest to be a mom. She is lovingly remembered by her husband Brian Conway, and her greatest pride and joy, her children, Emma and Cameron Hollanti. Diane’s unwavering love and devotion to her family were evident in everything she did.
Diane had a successful career as a financial planner, working with dedication at TD Bank and Investors Group. Yet it was in her entrepreneurial journey as the owner and operator of Hollanti’s Cakes that she truly came alive creatively sharing her passion with others through her artistry and love of baking. Diane loved to travel, write poetry, listen to music, dance and was always up for any new adventure.
She brought warmth, creativity, and strength to everything she did, whether it was in her professional life or her deeply cherished role as a mother, sister, daughter, wife, and friend.
She is survived by her sisters Amy Chiappetta (Rob) and their children Marco, Kalya, Ethan and Elio, Andrea McGrath (Christopher) and their children Hamilton, Sophie and Taylor, and Rachael Wiklo (John) and their children Alexander and Kate, who will forever cherish the deep bond they shared. Diane was predeceased by her beloved parents, Kathy Lindsay (née Parker) and Robert Lindsay, and her grandparents Charles and Margaret Parker and Doug and Anne Lindsay.
Diane’s generous spirit, sharp wit, and open heart touched all who knew her. She leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience, and unforgettable memories.
The Funeral Ceremony will be held on Wednesday, August 20th, 2025 at 1:00pm in the Valhalla Hotel & Conference Centre in the Viking room. Interment to follow at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
