With heavy hearts we announce the peaceful passing of Doreen Wiita with family by her side after a lengthy illness at her Roseview Manor residence.

Doreen was born in Port Arthur to parents Lily and Charles Matfolk, and they and her sister Betty moved to Nipigon at a young age. Despite that Doreen had a disability confining her to a wheelchair since a child, she found love with a Burley bush worker Waino Wiita, together they raised 3 boys Steve, Larry and Hank.

Mom cherished her family and had a close relationship with her sister Betty and family along with her sister-in-law Ellen and her family also Brother-in-law Leo. She had made a lot of friends over the years, enjoyed cooking, shopping and the occasional martini.

Mom's spirited attitude will be missed by all of those who knew her.

Doreen is survived by Sons, Steve (Wendy), Larry (Scott) and Hank (Jennifer) along with grandchildren Heikki (Shannon), Sonja (Sar), and Kiira (Luke), as well as numerous Nieces and Nephews. Doreen is predeceased by her Husband Waino Wiita, parents Charles and Lily (nee Danielson) Matfolk, Sister Betty Cormier and her husband Bill, , Sister-in-law Ellen Hebert along with husband Tom, Brothers-in-Law Arvo and Leo Wiita.

Special thanks to the Staff at Roseview Manor (Primrose) for all the care and the friendships that she made.
