The family of Elsie Borland sadly announces her passing on March 31, 2024.

Elsie was born on October 16, 1935, in Fort William, Ontario. She was employed by Bell Telephone for 31 years, retiring in 1985.

Elsie was married to Harry Borland for 47 years. He predeceased her in 2010. Elsie liked to discuss politics, watch old movies, and to pamper her pet cats. She was a very good cook. Elsie and Harry liked to travel to Grand Marais to spend the day, the first stop being the coffee shop for coffee and their special donuts. Elsie and Harry liked to attend the Fisherman’s Picnic and Parade in Grand Marais. Vacation time, they’d drive to visit friends in British Columbia.

Elsie is survived by her sister Jean Toman, Patricia Creed, and family. Sister-in-law Mary Olesko (Bill), and nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Harry, parents Steve and Martha Olesko, brothers Jerry, William, Walter, and Michael Olesko Sr., brother-in-law Paul Toman, sister-in-law Patricia Olesko, and Michael Olesko Jr.

As per Elsie’s wishes a private service will be held by family. Arrangements entrusted to the Blake Funeral Chapel, 200 May Street S.
