Gerard Joseph Lemieux, known affectionately as Gerry or J by his friends and family, passed away peacefully on June 15, 2025, at the age of 78 in Dryden, Ontario. He was a beloved husband, cherished friend, and family member. Born on June 28, 1946, in Gaspe, Quebec, Gerry’s journey through life was marked by his generous spirit, kindness, and friendly demeanour.
Gerry and Linda began their journey together in 1971. Together, they built a home filled with laughter, warmth, and an open door to all.
Gerry’s career was as diverse as his interests, but no matter where he worked or what he did, he was known for his generous nature. He gave his time and energy freely, never seeking anything in return. His acts of kindness, both big and small, touched the lives of many.
As a friend, Gerry was the epitome of reliability. He was the first to offer a helping hand, the last to leave a gathering, and always the one to share a word of encouragement. His presence was a comfort to those around him, and his friendship was a gift that many were grateful to receive.
Those who knew Gerry will remember his stories. He was a man who lived life to the fullest, embracing each day with enthusiasm and grace. His legacy will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him.
Gerry is survived by his devoted wife, Linda, and a large family as well as a community of friends who were like family to him. His passing leaves a void that cannot be filled, but his spirit will continue to inspire and guide us.
We say farewell to a remarkable man whose life was a reflection of the values he held dear. Gerry will be deeply missed. Rest in peace, dear Gerry. Your story is one of a life well-lived, and it is one that we will continue to celebrate.
Cremation has taken place and he will be put to rest at a later date at Riverside Cemetery in Thunder Bay.
