Gordon Henry Santarossa

It is with heavy hearts that the family of Gordon Henry Santarossa announce his passing on Jan 8th 2022 at St Joseph's hospice after a valiant battle with cancer.

Gord was a lifelong resident of Thunder Bay, born Dec 17, 1954 at McKellar hospital to Leno and Mary Santarossa. He attended St Stans elementary and Selkirk high school. In 1975 he joined Plumbers & Fitters Local 628 and in 1985 started Anmar plumbing and heating with then partner Doug Skinner. After running his own business for 25 years he finished up his career at Lakehead University. In 1979 he married Anne (Vihtari) going on to have three sons Justin, Jeffrey and James. After retiring Gord revisited his passion for golf at the fort William country club in the summers and enjoyed winters in sunny Mexico. He will be remembered for his great sense of humor, strong work ethic and generous spirit, always ready to lend a hand or loan a tool from his extensive collection. Gord is predeceased by his parents and brother Larry.

The family sends heartfelt thanks to all the doctors, nurses and staff that showed such great compassion throughout Gord's illness and also a huge thank you to all the amazing friends and family that supported them during this time. In lieu of flowers donations to St Joseph’s foundation and the northern cancer fund would be appreciated.
