Mrs. Jacqueline Mary Landry nee Imhoff, age 65, a resident of Thunder Bay, passed away suddenly in early May. Born in Nipigon to Rita and Chelsey Imhoff.

Jackie moved to Thunder Bay at the early age of 18 and was employed at various places throughout her life. From Film factory, to Sheldon reproduction, to Staples, making fish and chips, working closely with her brother Joey and his business, Jackie collected friends along the way.

Her interests were diverse, and included everything from Gardening, building things, American politics, Steam punk, art projects, medieval times, including being the family genealogist, it fascinated her.

Jackie was ever present, and made you feel like the most important, interesting person in the world when she was interacting with you, this created many friendships that lasted years and years.

Jackie loved hosting Ladies weekend at camp, which took place yearly for well over 20 years. It should be noted no kids or husbands were allowed in the vicinity of the ladies’ weekend; however, everyone was invited to the much-anticipated August long weekends, also hosted at Polly Lake. The August long weekends were a favorite of many, and the list of attendees was larger every year, all were welcome.

Jackie was especially proud of her daughters and her granddaughters, never missing a moment when she could brag about their accomplishments. Jackie’s daughters, son in law and granddaughters were truly fortunate to spend time with Jackie in Edmonton just last month. Lots of smiles, hugs and laughs were had by all, those memories will be cherished forever.

Jackie is reunited with her high school sweetheart, and love of her life Joe. Jackie and Joe were so smitten they would write letters to each other regularly and mail them, even while living in the same house, pen pals, and spouses.

Jackie will be lovingly remembered by her daughters Heather Landry, Carmel Whittaker nee Landry, Son in law Duane Whittaker, granddaughters Jeslyn, Sophie and Meeya Whittaker, all from Edmonton. Jackie is also survived by her father Chesley Imhoff, siblings Greg (Lynn), Louise (Ron), Joey, Annie (Paul), and her cat Buster.

Jackie was predeceased by her husband Joe, and mother Rita Imhoff.

Cremation has already taken place, and in accordance with Jackie’s wishes there will be no funeral or service.

In lieu of flowers Donations can be made in Jackie’s memory, to the Heart and Stroke foundation.
