It is with great sadness that the family of Janet (Jeannette) Bryan (Ouellette) announce her passing on Wednesday, June 25, 2025 at the ripe old age of 93.

Janet was born in Quebec and grew up in Heron Bay and White River and later moved to Fort William.

Janet was very active her whole life. Janet was a veteran; she joined the Canadian Armed Forces Women’s division and was stationed in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

In her younger years she loved country music and loved to dance; she was a dance instructor. She loved going to bingo especially with her cousin Jaimie.

Janet worked for many years for the Hacquoil family at the Westfort Hotel and had many friends and co-workers. Later she also worked at Beacon Hill Lodge.

Janet loved to curl and curled with the same team of ladies for many years, accomplishing a feat which was tough for many in the sport, winning out for the playdowns and to go on to the District and also won that title. Also the team achieved a coveted 8 ENDER!!

Janet was an avid supporter of the West Thunder Community Centre being a volunteer and board member in the early years. She made many friends and attended many events. A few favourites were disking and Friday night dances for seniors, as she would work at the door greeting people when they entered.

One of the most proud moments for Janet was buying the house on Tarbutt St. She loved the home and kept it very well. Such a proud moment when family and friends surprised her with a house warming party. Such a wonderful time was had by all.

Janet’s surviving family members are: her daughters Randy Bryan and Kelly Johnston (Brad); grandchildren: Justene, Lindsay, Carly (Dave), Cody and Cory (Heidi); great grandchildren: Hailey, Olivia, Ava, Hayden and Ellie and special addition Callum, as well as loving sister Denise Torry and numerous cousins and relatives far and wide.

A special thank you to Sister Leila Greco staff and also TBRHSC unit 2C staff.

A celebration of life will be held in the near future.
