Mr. Jerry Victor Blazino passed away peacefully on May 2, 2023 at Hogarth Riverview Manor with his family by his side.

Jerry was born June 4, 1938 in Port Arthur, Ontario. He was a sheet metal worker for Simon Day, Northlands and Newport Metals and subsequently worked in management for Kamtar before starting his own business, Colossal Metals Industries.

He also was a part owner of Galaxy Lanes bowling alley throughout this time. Later he enjoyed working casually as a travel agent in his semi-retirement, taking full advantage of the perks of worldwide adventure that went along with it.

In his early years he enjoyed hunting and fishing and, in his fifties, and sixties developed a passion for boating on Lake Superior with the love of his life Anita aboard the “Get-Away”. Together they both enjoyed their trips to Las Vegas and numerous cruises in the Caribbean.

Jerry was well known around the hockey rinks. He was a goalie in Junior and then a proud and dedicated hockey dad/grandfather. In the 1980s he was a board member for the Thunder Bay Flyers and years later became the first-ever President of the inaugural Superior International Junior Hockey League.

Jerry is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Anita, his daughter Sheri Nickerson (Rob), his sons Darryl (Michelle) and Steve (Phuong), his granddaughters Jessica LaBarre (Eric), Courtney Nickerson (Colin), Khai Linh and Alyssa, his grandsons Tyler, Adam, Eric and Thao, his great-grandsons Ethan and Bryson, his brother Ken (Gloria), brother-in-law Mel Harnett and numerous nieces and nephews`.

He is predeceased by his parents Victor and Anne, his step-mom Anna, his sister Jean Harnett, and his stillborn daughter Christine.

Funeral Services for Jerry will be held in the Chapel of Harbourview Funeral Centre on Monday, May 8, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. with interment to follow at Riverside Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will begin one hour prior to the service
