Joan S. Hill died peacefully on August 31. Joan was born in Port Arthur and lived her entire life in the area. Upon graduation from Business College, she began her career as a secretary with the Fort William Children's Aid Society and ended with the City of Fort William and Thunder Bay Social Services. She met Harvey Hill on a blind date and married in September 1968. They had many happy years together until his passing in August 2012.
Besides her husband, Joan is predeceased by her parents, Roy and Margery O'Donnell, brother Jim O'Donnell, sister Judy O'Donnell, and other relatives. She is survived by daughter Joanne Hill, sister-in-law Dorothy O'Donnell, close cousin Dianna Baig, nieces, nephews, and other cousins.
Cremation has taken place with no funeral to be held. Thanks to Dr. de Bakker, Dr Boake, Dr. Minty, Dr. Sadreddini, and the entire St Joseph's Hospital nursing team for their care.
Also thanks to Marilyn & Lorne Caruso for their friendship and help over the past 50 years. Also thanks to Clare for being such a good neighbor.
