It is with deep regret that we announce the passing of Kevin Lee Gordon at age 64, on May 19, 2023.  Kevin was born in Pembroke, ON at the Cottage Hospital on May 10, 1959 while his family were stationed at CFB Petawawa, ON.  At age 7, after leaving the Armed Forces, the family moved back to Port Arthur, ON, his parents home town, where Kevin attended Prospect Ave. School and Hillcrest High School.

As a young man, Kevin was employed at Great Lakes Paper Mill, a service station in Upsala, ON and as a handyman.  Later in life, he helped care for his aging mother and after the passing of his brother David in 2011, he took over operating his small business, Abacus Computer Solutions on Cumberland St. where he was known for both his knowledge of computers and customer service skills.  After closing shop, Kevin was later employed as a custodian with a local commercial cleaning company.  Kevin met many a friend and acquaintance while attending one of his favourite hangouts, the Polish Hall on Cumberland St.  Tip one for Kev!

Kevin is survived by his brothers Gary (Lois), Terry (Donna) and sister Wendy (Rod Horychuk) along with nephews, nieces and many other relatives.  He was predeceased by his father, Jackson, mother, Iris, brother David, grandparents, David and Rita Truesdale and James and Edna Gordon as well as many other relatives and his cherished pet dog, K-Lee.

A huge thank you to Henry Koski, Kevin’s loyal friend that stepped in when family couldn’t be there in person for him during his rather brief illness as well as aiding the family after his passing.  Also, to the doctors and nurses at TBRH and St. Joseph’s Hospice, as well as the VON’s and Paramedics who cared for Kevin in his final days, a big thank you.

There will be no formal service.

If so desired,  please donate to the Northern Cancer Fund at the TBRHS Foundation or to the Thunder Bay District Humane Society in Kevin’s memory.

Funeral arrangements entrusted to Northwest Funeral Alternatives Inc.
