With deep sadness we announce the passing of Lawrence Barnes, a loving father, grandfather, and cherished friend, passed away peacefully on May 8th, 2023. With his devoted son Tony and his little friend Ridged by his side, Lawrence bid farewell to this world, leaving behind a legacy of joy, laughter, and cherished memories.

Born September 20th, 1941, Lawrence grew up with a zest for life and an unwavering spirit it was not uncommon to find him with a smile on his face, listening to his favorite songs and sharing a laugh with those around him.

Lawrence had a vast collection of movies and would find delight in watching them. He also had an avid interest in music. Country melodies resonated deeply with his soul, he would often be found singing or humming along, typically loudly and out of tune. Country music provided him solace during both joyful and challenging times, and he found comfort in the lyrics that mirrored the ups and downs of life.

Lawrence enjoyed the simple pleasures that brought people together. Playing cards with friends and family was a pastime he relished, always ready to engage in friendly competition and share in the camaraderie of the game. He also enjoyed bowling and was a formidable competitor who relished every strike and spare with exuberance. His enthusiasm and friendly nature made every bowling night a memorable experience, creating lasting bonds and unforgettable moments of laughter.

Lawrence is survived by his two loving children, Tony and Anna Barnes, who will forever carry his memory in their hearts. His presence will also be greatly missed by his cherished grandchildren Elijah Domenic Barnes and Wilder Cody Barnes, his four-legged grandbabies Ridged and Sadie, his sister Margaret his Aunt Lillian and many other cousins who were fortunate to experience his love and warmth.

Predeceased by his wife Angelina, his brothers Donny, Carl and Joey, his Parents Clifford and Avelyne. Lawrence's legacy lives on through the lives he touched with his kind heart and infectious laughter.

The family would like to convey their sincere gratitude to the caregivers at Hogarth Riverview Manor who were fortunate to enjoy Lawrences playful spirt and provided his care while enriching his life.

As we celebrate the life of Lawrence Barnes, let us remember him as a man who cherished the simple pleasures, embraced the joys of family, a love for all animals, who reminded us to find happiness in the small moments. Though he may be physically absent, his spirit will continue to shine brightly in our hearts, forever reminding us to live life to the fullest.

Rest in peace, dear Lawrence, knowing that your laughter and love will forever echo through the lives you touched.

A cremation has taken place.  A family service will be held at a later date,
