Liisa Maki passed away peacefully on June 4th, 2024, at Pioneer Ridge in Thunder Bay, Ontario, with family at her side. Liisa immigrated from Finland with her parents as a teenager and settled in Lake Worth Florida, where she met her great love, Richard Brown. She loved being a wife, mother and homemaker for her husband and two children. Liisa enjoyed travelling, entertaining and above all, she loved sharing these passions with many friends and family.
She moved to Canada when she met and married Pentti Maki. Here she learned to “love” the north, which included spending as much time as possible with her grandchildren.
Liisa’s faith was important to her as she was a member of the Lakeshore Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses.
Liisa is survived by her daughter, Kristy Warren, granddaughter Sandy Hoshizaki, grandson Jason Hoshizaki (Skylee) and great-granddaughter Trinity. Also survived by step-daughters, Bonnie Gibb (John), Robyn and family, Donna Moline (Howard). Predeceased by, son Mark Brown, husband Richard Brown, Pentti Maki.
