It is with sorrow that the family of Lynda May Ahtila (nee Morriss) announces her passing on June 26, 2023 at the age of 68. She passed away peacefully at home with her husband by her side.
Lynda was born on December 21, 1954 in Port Arthur, ON. Her careers included positions at the Chronicle-Journal, Magic 99.9 - which was her most memorable job - and at Shoppers & Walmart, where she made many lifelong friends. She enjoyed gardening and knew all the tricks to get high yield from them. She also loved camping and walks in the fall, especially right through the fallen leaves!
She is lovingly remembered by her husband of 49 years, Alan; daughter Carolyn; granddaughter Arly; two brothers Ronald Morriss and David (Barb) Morriss; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by her mother Florence (1986), her father Frederick (1996) and her brother Donald (2020).
A private memorial service will take place at a later date. If friends so choose, a donation to the Cancer Society in honour of Lynda would be sincerely appreciated.
