Mr. Martin James Syvitiski age 95 years, a resident of Hogarth Riverview Manor passed away peacefully on Tuesday June 6, 2023. Born December 19, 1927 in Fort William to parents John and Margaret (Cybulski) Syvitiski.
Martin was the proud owner and operator of Dresswell Deluxe Cleaners and Launderers along with his four brothers, which was founded by his father.
He married Onetitta (Harnett) on October 6, 1956 and together they enjoyed people and loved having guests and entertaining at their homes at Shebandowan Lake, Clearwater Florida and their original residence at 510 Kingsway Avenue. He enjoyed an active life pencil boat racing, golfing, traveling, spending time on Shebandowan Lake on his “twinboy”, fishing with friends and both downhill and water skiing.
Martin is survived by his sisters Margaret Fodchuk, Florence Wilkinson (Tilsonburg), Rose Zelinski, Brother Raymond (Carolyn) brother- in- laws Melvin Harnett, Marvin Harnett, Joe Mastrangelo, sister-in-law Laura Harnett and several nieces, nephews and long term friends.
Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday June 21, 2023 at 11 a.m. where friends and family will gather for Funeral Mass in St. Patrick’s Cathedral celebrated by Rev. Msgr. P.M. Stilla V.G. Private family inurnment will follow later in Our Lady of Charity Mausoleum where he laid to rest with his wife Onetitta who predeceased him on March 10, 2003.
The family would like to express sincere gratitude to Dr. Dani Garon (you went above and beyond to ensure his comfort) and the Hogarth Riverview 6 South (Tulip) staff who provided compassionate care to Martin. You all ensured his dignity, solace and always remembered to serve him “hot tea” just the way he liked it.
