We are deeply saddened to announce that our father, Ovila St. Onge, passed away peacefully in Cedar Unit at Hogarth Riverview Manor, at the age of 90 on Wednesday, May 3, 2023.

Born in Mont-Carmel, Quebec he left home at a young age and began working in various logging camps in Northwestern Ontario before settling in Beardmore where he worked for Domtar and Abitibi; he then moved to Thunder Bay with his wife where he resided until his passing. Ovila was a man of few words and seldom complained. He was an avid pool player and bowler and enjoyed travelling to the 55 Plus Centre in his motorized scooter, to join friends in a good game of pool. He loved gardening and was meticulous in the care of his house and yard.

He will be greatly missed by his family, but is now at peace, resting next to his wife.

Ovila will be lovingly remembered by his daughters: Monique Guitard (Harold) and Lucille (John) Lewandowski; sisters: Lucille, Celine and Rajan in Quebec; grandchildren: Jason Thetrault, Tammy and Nickey (Kim) Lewandowski; great grandchildren: Blake and Adam Guitard, Dawson, Hunter and Riley Adams, and Heidi Lewandowski; sister-in-law Oline St. Onge, and his good friend Michel Chouinard.
He was predeceased by his wife Cecile (nee) Bergeron, parents Edouard and Marie, daughter Muriel Thetrault, grandchildren: Laurie Guitard Moe (Marty), Gerry Guitard (Carrie); son-in-law Gerald Guitard; brothers: Paul-Emile, Omer, Odilon; and sisters: Rosa, Annee and Marie Ange.

According to our dad's wishes, there will be no service and a private interment will take place at St. Andrews Cemetery where he will be laid to rest alongside his wife.
