It is with great sadness the family of Paul Hay, age 83 years, resident of Thunder Bay, passed away peacefully at TBRHSC TCU – Cedar wing with his loving family by his side.

Born on October 19, 1940 in Fort Frances to the late John and Ruby Hay. Paul was raised and educated in Fort Frances and was a graduate of Lakehead University. He was employed as a teacher with the Lakehead Board of Education, retiring in September 1994 after 35 years of service. In earlier years, he enjoyed curling, golfing, skiing and hunting. Also, he and Faye enjoyed their winters in Florida for over 20 years and spending time at Starnes Lake with his family and friends there. Paul was a lifelong member of Metro Lions Club.

Paul is survived by his loving wife Faye of 62 years, daughter Debbie (Pat) and son Brent (Kathryn), grandchildren Matt (Rachael), Kevin (Stephanie), Brittney, Brandon and great grandsons Gus and Wally, brother-in-law Larry and sister-in-law Noreen, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by his brothers Jim, Gilbert, Ken and Gordon, sisters-in-law, nephew Greg and in-laws Evald, Emily, Jim and Sheryl (Ed).

Cremation has taken place. As per Paul’s wishes, no service will be held. A private interment will be held at a later date. Donations in Paul’s memory may be made to the Northern Cancer Fund or a charity of your choice.
