DICKEY, Shirley Mildred (nee Morasutti) the family announces her passing November 22,2022 after a short illness in Hogarth Riverview Manor. She was the eldest daughter of Francis and Pearl Morasutti.
She was born March 26, 1931 in Port Arthur growing up on Foley Street with her mother and two younger sisters. On her 20th birthday she married Ernest Dickey and over the years they welcomed four children living in Current River for many years. They celebrated over 50 years of marriage. She loved nature, her home and her cats. Summers were spent at the family camp on Eldorado Beach for over 65 years. It was her sanctuary for her family and friends.
She leaves behind to mourn her loss daughters Deborah (Sam Winters), Heather (Wayne Macgowan) and son Wayne (Maarit). She was blessed with four grandchildren Kelly Simpson (Dawn), Wayne Dickey Jr., Justin Dickey and Leeza Dickey and two great grandchildren Brady Curtola and Koen Simpson. She is also survived by her sister Lois Danyluk of British Columbia. Predeceased by her son Laurence (Larry) Dickey (1980), husband Ernie (2010) grandson Justin Dickey (2011) and sister Francis Wayrynen(2002).
Cremation has taken place and no service will be held. Private family Internment will be at a later date.
