It is with heavy hearts we announce the peaceful passing of Wayne Lang on Monday, May 19, 2025, at the age of 78.

Born December 5, 1946, in Galt, ON, Wayne and his family moved around often until he met the love of his life, Susan, and remained in Thunder Bay long term. Married in February of 1968, together they had three sons.

Wayne spent a lot of his time on the road trucking far and wide through NWO and meeting many people along the way to share his stories with. His main interests were spending time with his family, friends and especially his grandchildren later in life.

Wayne shared many hours on the ice with his sons and grandchildren, coaching and playing hockey and cheering for the Toronto Maple Leafs. During the off season, Wayne would be found outdoors hunting and fishing. Once retired, Wayne and Susan spent many hours on Lake Superior salmon fishing and volunteering at the Salmon Association.

Wayne is survived by his wife Susan, of 57 years, his sons Terry (Carol) and Trevor (Riley). Grandchildren: Tyler (Ginny), Miranda (Logan), Brody, Meghan (Parker), Terri-Lynn (Tommy) and Dereck. Great-grandchildren: Aviana, Oaklynd, Laikyn, Cohen, Harper and Emmaline. He is also survived by his brother Brian (Beth), and will be fondly remembered by many in-laws, nieces and nephews, as well as great nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents, Lloyd and Alice Lang, in-laws, Joe and Vince Cryderman, and his son, Troy.

Susan and family would like to give a special thank you to the amazing staff at St. Joseph’s Care Group, 5S Physio and Southbridge Lakehead Manor.

The family will be hosting an open house on Friday, May 30 from 12-3pm at 47 Hacquoil Road to celebrate the life of Wayne.

If friends so desire, donations or memorials to the Alzheimer Society of Thunder Bay would greatly be appreciated.

Condolences may be made through www.nwfainc.com
