With heavy hearts we announce the peaceful passing of William “Billy” Comuzzi, age 63, on Thursday January 19, 2023 at home.

Billy is remembered by Son Kyle Comuzzi (Kayla), Daughter Ashley Comuzzi, Stepson Steven Fournier, Grandchildren Liam, Freyja and Gunnar Comuzzi, Aunt and Uncle Don and Joanne Thomson of Toronto, Cousin Ryan Thomson of Toronto and Paula Thomson of Vancouver, Cat Blue, along with numerous other relatives and many friends he made over the years.

He is predeceased by parents William and Bruna Comuzzi.

A lifelong resident of Fort William, he graduated from Selkirk. He attended hockey school and grew up playing hockey as a defenseman with talent that elevated him above his age group to the EHL. From a young age he took an active role in the family businesses including East End Service, the Blue Boy Restaurant, lottery stores, the apartment and sign business. He also worked for Canadian Steamship Lines and one of his greatest prides in life was being a life-long member of the International Longshoremen's Association (I.L.A. Local 1867).

He loved playing golf with his father Willy, and son Kyle. He was also well traveled with his favorite vacation spot being Barbados. Family and Blue were number one priority but he also deeply treasured his Thursday East End Dispatch meetings with the boys.

He left an impression on everyone he met and loved for everyone to be together so we would like to invite those who knew Billy to the Slovak Legion on Atlantic Avenue in the Solarium on February 2nd, 2023 from 3 to 8PM for one last "hoorah" and final salute.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice.
