For Angie Ottertail, a Tail End Roller/Rubber Tire Operator with Miller in Dryden, work becomes community.
If you ask her why she works for Miller, she struggles to narrow it down to just one thing.
"I love this place, I love my team, I love building roads, I love showing women that meaningful work can build a life and a community. I tell other women to get out there and do the things you're scared of doing because places like Miller want you to succeed. I want my daughters to see that anything is possible."
Angie has worked for Miller for about three years and credits her job as the reason she feels fulfillment and a sense of accomplishment as well as a great sense of pride. She knows that what she does is unique and special, and that it fuels her passion to keep pushing boundaries.
"I love being able to look down at the road we’re driving on and say 'I was a part of that, I built that road. How many people can say their work is important, that it’s meaningful? Living and working in my local community, the area where I grew up, where my family lives, it means I get to give back in a way that benefits my family, my friends and my community.'"
Speaking of family, Angie can’t help but smile and gush about her colleagues.
“We really do look out for each other. We’re such a small community that we want each other to succeed. My colleagues are the reason I love coming to work every day.”
