RIDE program nabs impaired driver

Greenstone OPP arrested and charged one individual with impaired following a RIDE traffic stop.

GREENSTONE – While conducting a RIDE program traffic stop on Highway 584 on March 16, officers approached a vehicle and asked the driver to provide a breath sample, according to OPP.

The officer's investigation determined that the driver was impaired by alcohol and had a blood alcohol concentration of 80 plus.

As a result, a 28-year-old from Geraldton has been arrested and charged with impaired driving.

Police also found cannabis readily available in the vehicle.

The accused has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear before the court on April 18.
