GREENSTONE — Provincial police have charged a Greenstone resident with sexual assault after an incident in Longlac last month.

Police announced the charge on Monday, nearly two weeks after the incident.

Police said a female reported being sexually assaulted in a vehicle in Longlac on Oct. 25 after having received a ride. She was able to exit the vehicle and immediately called 911.

The accused was arrested after officers in the area responded to the call.

The 72-year-old, who faces one count of sexual assault, has been released from custody and is scheduled to appear in court later this month.

Investigators are looking to hear from anyone who may have information related to the case, police added.
