April 1, 2022: Pope apology

For many young children and their parents, starting school for the first time, can bring with it some apprehension and uncertainty. Manitouwadge Public School wants to help minimize that, by offering their School Yard Story Walk days. This event will provide parents and their child an active and visual opportunity to see what the school yard features.

Technology based learning came alive for many Superior North Catholic District School students. During the month of March they took part in an initiative sponsored by Skills Ontario and Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Program. This facilitated a glance into the trade of carpentry and other skilled trades.

With the help of their teacher advisor and guidance counsellor, the students at MHS chose to sponsor a child from Haiti. They shared an update with their school community providing them with a glimpse of what her daily life entails.

Canada Post Community Foundation has introduced a new grant to facilitate and support educational initiatives for Indigenous children and youth, and that promote the understanding of Indigenous culture. That grant is known as the Indigenous Truth and Reconciliation Signature Grant, and will be offered annually.
